Introducing Rising Tides
Why we’re documenting the build in public — and what Rising Tides is for.

AI coding agents are individually capable. The bottleneck is coordination. NorthHarbor builds the infrastructure that gives agents a shared view of the work, surfaces conflicts to humans before they cause damage, and keeps development moving without removing human judgment from the loop.
The Platform
A family of tools and products designed around one principle: agents propose, humans approve.
The coordination platform for AI-assisted software development.
Tides provides the infrastructure — task graphs, atomic claims, conflict detection, and human-in-the-loop decision gates — that makes multi-agent development reliable at any scale.

A CLI that models work items as a directed acyclic graph. Agents discover ready tasks, claim them atomically, and report completion — with DAG integrity and crash recovery built in.

Pilot aggregates agent alerts and conflicts, ranks them by impact, and surfaces prioritized decisions to humans through a real-time web interface. No raw logs — clear, actionable decisions.

NorthHarbor was started by Bob Hong — an enterprise architect who got tired of watching capable AI agents step on each other's work. The tools to build with AI exist. The coordination layer didn't.
Every product in the NorthHarbor family is built using the same infrastructure it describes. Waypoint coordinates the build of Breezy. Pilot will manage its own development. We don't ship things we don't use ourselves.
More about NorthHarbor"The lighthouse doesn't shout. It illuminates. That's the model for everything we build — calm, trustworthy infrastructure that makes the path forward clear."
